  • Kelly - Our house has NINE doors that allow entry into the house. I’ve always thought that was a ton!! Every bedroom in the house has a door to the outside. My main concern is for when we have teenage kids, but I hope my future kids would never think of sneaking out of the house. I hope that I have perfectly obedient children…or I’ll need some really good door alarms. ๐Ÿ˜‰ReplyCancel

    • Robyn Van Dyke - WOW! Nine!!! You win – haha! We have six currently and we will have five once we get rid of the one, which we think will be just perfect for us! But the silver lining with a door in each bedroom is that y’all have very easy escape routes in case of fire! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I will also hope for your sake that you have wonderfully obedient children that would never even think of sneaking out of the house!ReplyCancel

  • Elizabeth Burns - I’m with you – sometimes less is more. We removed a back door during our renovation (went from three to two) and are so glad we did. Doors usually eat up valuable square footage so saying sayonara to one can create a more functional floorplan. I think you guys are smart to make the change now!ReplyCancel

    • Robyn Van Dyke - Happy to have your design stamp of approval! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad we thought of it now too before we finish the exterior! It must be so wonderfully simple to just have two doors in your home! I completely agree about being able to create much more functional floor plans with less doors!ReplyCancel
